Nanango is a historic town with a population of 4500 in the South Burnett region, 190km from Brisbane and 150km from Toowoomba.
The town is part of a growing wine region. Day trips could be arranged to neighbouring wineries, towns, as well as the Bunya Mountains.
The showgrounds are within walking distance of the CBD, which has four motels, three pubs serving lunches and dinners, a RSL Club, shops etc. There are also two caravan parks nearby with about 15 comfortable cabins.
Food and groceries are available daily through a modern supermarket (7 day trading), fruit shop, butchers and bakers.
To support the horses, there are three veterinary practices, farriers, two produce agents and a saddlery.
The town has several ATMs, banks, a post office, newsagent, laundromat, hardware stores, service stations, taxis and tyre outlets.
